The death and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, changed everything.

By his death we receive forgiveness for our sins. "...Jesus our Lord, who was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our justification" (Romans 4:25).

By his resurrection we are empowered to live a completely new life. "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life" (Rom.6:4-11).

This was the good news the Apostles proclaimed—summed up by St. Paul this way: "If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

This is the good news that Jesus offers everyone as a result of what He has done by His death and rising. And this new life in Christ is not just about the here and now. It is also the promise of an eternal quality of life and of bodily resurrection. It is the promise of eternally being in the love of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! It is what you and I were created to enjoy presently and eternally (John 17:3). It is the joy that we live to share with others!

In Discovering Christ, we have an opportunity to talk about this good news and it's importance for our lives. We know there is "more beyond," as I share in the short clip below:
