Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This school year (2024-2025) I’m running the ChristLife process in an after school club at Catonsville High School. Before I share the details, let me tell you why I feel called to do this.

When I was 13 years old, I was discontent being an atheist. I was raised never going to church, and I never knew anything about Jesus. Through reason, I was convinced God must exist for good and evil to exist, and I took my first steps to find who Jesus really was. After a two-year long journey, I was confirmed into the Catholic Church in 2022 at 15 years old.

Many young people today grow up with a hostility to religion simply out of ignorance; many of their parents stopped going to church decades prior, so they cling to the things of this world, like sex, drugs, money, ideology, or pagan spiritualism. Many of you may have children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, or siblings who have fallen for these deceptions, and I understand greatly how much you care for their souls. My own family and friends haven’t yet joined me on the journey, and I pray daily for their conversion.

After my confirmation, I joined my parish’s ChristLife program, and it strengthened my faith in a powerful way, especially by teaching me how to effectively share my faith.

The love Christ has poured out for me has radically transformed my life, and I have a goal of sharing that love with everyone I know. This mission, thanks to ChristLife, can now be a reality.

Catonsville High is a public school in the Baltimore area, and I have observed that there is a hunger among students to discover why they exist, and this is a golden opportunity to answer that hunger with the answer: Jesus Christ.

We started the course on Wednesday October 2nd, and I was blown away with how many people at this secular school were interested in coming! We have an average of 30 participants per session!

This offering is an adaptation of the usual Discovering Christ course, with most teachings being split into two sessions due to a one-hour time constraint. In that hour, these lost sheep are going to have a meal together, pray for the first time, hear thought provoking teachings on the meaning of life, discuss the teaching in small groups led by faithful high-schoolers, and ultimately become missionary disciples!

None of this is possible without your support though.

We need to raise $3600 for the personnel costs to administrate this course, meals provided weekly for 13 weeks, and course materials.

I implore you to be generous and support this mission, and I also ask for your intercession for the course, as it is necessary to pray that the Lord send his Holy Spirit upon these students and open their hearts to his word.
