Kerygma Do you feel like something is wrong with the world? You see pain and suffering. Broken relationships. Loss. Death. Maybe it’s personal: You lost someone close. A loved one died. You face financial struggles. An addiction. Or maybe you’ve got what you always dreamed of, but there’s still an emptiness, an ache you can’t satisfy – no matter what you do. This isn’t the way it’s meant to be. You were created for more. God created you in love. He created you for love. “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them.” – Genesis 1:26-28 But our relationship with God has been broken. You have free will. So you can freely choose whether you live in God’s love. We try to build our lives on our own strength. We think our plans are better than God’s. We think he’s holding out on us. Or we struggle to believe God’s even real. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23 There is Good News! God loves you. He made a way for you two to be reconciled. He sent Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, to pay the price for your sins. “God proves his love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Romans 5:8 How will you respond? There’s more to this love than just knowing about it. You choose if you want to receive it. It calls for a personal decision. What if you turned to God in your heart and said: “Lord God, I need you. I want to turn to you. I want to stop going the way I’ve been going. Forgive me for the stuff I know is wrong in my life. Come and help me, Jesus.” In his love the Lord promises: “You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13 Find more at Discovering Christ.
