Meet the Staff

Dave Nodar

What do you do for ChristLife? As the Director of ChristLife I oversee all program activities and I am a speaker at conferences in dioceses, parishes and other Christian organizations in the USA and internationally. I also present teaching for ChristLife's Building Evangelizing Eucharistic Communities (PDF) seminars and Alpha Conferences for Catholics.

What is your background? In 1971 I was apprehended by God's love and made a personal commitment to follow Jesus Christ as Lord as a member of the Catholic Church. After serving as a leader in a renewal movement for 20 years, I founded ChristLife in 1995. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from Towson University with a minor in Theology from Loyola College. I continued with graduate studies at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family Studies. I am the author of one of the first books on the new evangelization, Characteristics of the New Evangelization.

My passion is to help others to know the love of God the Father in Jesus Christ through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

What do you do for ChristLife? As Operations Director I am concerned with the daily activities of the ministry – customer relationships, resource sales, fiscal matters, conferences and other events, and volunteer coordination.

What is your background? I am a life long Catholic. I married Vera in 1958, and am the father of five daughters.  I came to know Jesus in a deep and personal way in 1973.  I am a graduate of Villanova University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  After a career in the U. S. Navy and Federal Government as an engineer and engineering manager, I retired to enter full time Christian service. As one of the founders of ChristLife I have spoken at conferences and seminars nationally and also in schools of evangelization in Eastern Europe. I have also served in the national leadership of a Catholic renewal movement for fifteen years.

What do you do for ChristLife? As the young adult project manger at ChristLife I am responsible for engaging young adult Catholics in evangelization. I also help out with web development, grantwriting, blogging and podcasting.

What is your background? After graduating from Mount Saint Mary's University with a B.A. in History in 2004 I embraced the truth and joy of knowing the Lord Jesus and returned to my childhood faith. I then worked for a year and a half at a non-profit education think tank as a researcher. Sensing the Lord's call to a deeper commitment to service and faith, I left my job as a researcher and joined ChristLife in June 2005.

Christy Soboleski

What do you do for ChristLife? As the college intern at ChristLife I work with the young adult project manager in young adult outreach through communications & publicity, event planning & preparation, hands on work at events, web editing, podcasting and blogging.

What is your background? After graduating high school in 2005, I joined a nine-month ministry where I became passionate about evangelizing and was able to witness many young people experiencing the love of Christ for the first time! I then attended Franciscan University in Ohio for a year and felt called to serve in my own community in Maryland, which lead me to pursuing the internship at ChristLife. I am currently attending Catonsville Community College, and will enter the nursing program at Towson in the fall of 2008. I am excited to be working as a part-time intern with ChristLife for the 2007-2008 school year.

*Also serving at ChristLife are several part-time volunteers. If interested in volunteering with ChristLife, contact us at info@christlife.org

Internship Program

"There is an urgent need for the emergence of a new generation of apostles anchored firmly in the word of Christ, capable of responding to the challenges of our times and prepared to spread the Gospel far and wide."
Pope Benedict XVI, Papal Message for Youth Day 2006

The sole focus of ChristLife’s Young Adult Project is to engage young adults in the new evangelization. The intern works closely with the young adult coordinator (Pete) to educate and engage other young adults in evangelization through web development, podcasting, and outreach.

An example of our outreach is a six-week pre-catechetical course called Discovering Christ.  We recently ran this course at St. Agnes in Catonsville for about 60 young adults aged 18-32.

Specific professional skills utilized in the internship include— communications & publicity (writing, emailing, phone calling – donors, customers, etc.); networking with other young adults & ministries; event planning & preparation; hands on work at events / courses (small group facilitation, greeters, registration); editing; web editing & writing; audio editing (podcasting); and graphic design.

Thus far three interns have worked at ChristLife and all have had a varying level of skill in the above areas (click here for a past intern’s reflection on his experience). An applying intern is not required to be proficient in all or even most of the above tasks – but the listing above should give some idea of the specific skills used to accomplish the goal of the project – to engage young adults in the new evangelization.

ChristLife is looking for a young adult who is a 1) Catholic Christian with a desire to grow in his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and in the ability to witness this faith to others (each morning we begin with 25-30 minutes of worship & intercession in our chapel), 2) college-student in good standing (GPA 3.0+) or recent college graduate.

If you would like to learn more about the intern program or contact Pete Ascosi at ChristLife at 410.531.7701 or pete@christlife.org.
